RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (MONDAY)

18:05 Windsor There’s only five runners and although it may seem obvious, the fact that jockey Andrea Atzeni is booked for one of the rides is mightily telling. He jumps aboard the Roger Charlton trained Dream Prospect who put in a much improved effort when finishing fourth in his last race. The Roger Charlton yard have a 25% strike rate at the moment as the trainer clearly has his horses going well and it wouldn’t take much for his lightly raced two year old to bag victory. City Guest, if showing his best, should pose a decent challenge to our selection but he’s had five attempts to finish with his head in front at the winning line and has only come remotely close once. The other three runners, although it seems somewhat unkind, shouldn’t be troubling the main duo and with Atzeni in the driving seat I can’t see past Dream Prospect. DREAM PROSPECT (WIN) – NAP

20:00 Wolverhampton A trip to the all-weather venue that is Wolverhampton as we find a selection in the fifth of seven races on the evening card. Horse number 2 on the card Fast Play looks worth an each way punt as he returns to a class 6 handicap. The last time the horse tackled a race of this grade on an artificial surface he won. With six pounds less to carry and with top jockey Martin Harley booked for the ride he seems mightily overpriced at double figure odds. His draw might not be the best but he’s definitely value for money with the generous odds the bookies seem to be offering. Konig Hall returns to flat racing after an encouraging run over obstacles, a likely improver who deserves his spot as favourite and looks the most credible danger to our selection. The likes of Star Ascending and Powered could easily find themselves in the mixes and look each way alternatives if our tip fails to run its race. FAST PLAY (E/W)
