RACE PREVIEWS & TIPS (MONDAY)

15:45 Wolverhampton The draw has asked significant questions of a few of todays fancied runners, perhaps most significantly so of market leader Jordan Sport who has the widest draw of all in eleven. Fairly impressive when making all at Lingfield last time it will take some effort for him to once again make all but his handy style will help and he is proven over further, worryingly however he can hang right and wouldn’t want to do that here despite being a course and distance winner. Encore d’Or is another with a terrible draw in ten but he too is proven around here and positive market vibes would be encouraging. Royal Birth is interesting and could have been aimed at this, often strong in the run he looks far too big in the betting and Newcastle last time will have put him right for this. Boom The Groom is 10lbs higher than when winning this last term and will have to be right on it to follow up today. Often highly tried he ran a belter over 6f the last day and is of tremendous interest given he’s drawn in the one box today, everything points to a massive run today so despite the mark he is taken to put his excellent draw to good use. Doc Sportello, Robot Boy and Red Baron all have something to be respected but this will take some winning. Boom The Groom (WIN) – NAP

16:10 Carlisle Beg To Differ arrives here as perhaps one of the most frustrating horses in training though he will win comfortably should he consent, the risks are clear however and he has failed to finish in three of his last five races. Heavily backed when sent to Sandown last month he looked set to play a major part before a blunder late on put him on the back foot, ultimately he later unseated though he looked set for at least a place and the form of that race has worked out really well. Down in grade today he really ought to appreciate going a stride slower and he really should beat these if completing, as such he is afforded a final chance. Blakemount looks the one most likely to take advantage of any mishaps from his market rival and did it well last time when winning here over slightly further. Todays drop in trip shouldn’t worry him but the handicapper has asked a serious question of him with the 7lbs penalty and he is taken on for that. Top Wood and Cultram Abbey both have chances should this fall apart but neither have the proven form of the market leaders. Beg To Differ (WIN)
