16:20 Redcar A trip up to Yorkshire awaits as we look to tackle this one mile handicap. Zealous looks set to go off favourite after a promising eighth placed finish at Doncaster recently but I can’t side with a horse who’s so inconsistent. Likely to make the placings but at such a short price I couldn’t be convinced of victory. Heir To A Throne may be top weight but he loves it here at Redcar and can go well fresh. A likely type who’s bound to make the frame. A horse at a much bigger price that may do better than their price suggests is seven year old Shamaheart. Another horse who adores Redcar with seven top four finishes out of nine starts here. He resides off a handy handicap mark and is bound to outrun his odds. All this being said I’m opting for one of the bottom weights in the form of the locally trained Mustaqbal. Trainer Michael Dods has trained the winner of this race in 2013 and 2014 and knows what it takes to be successful at this venue. A second and a first in just two outings at Redcar for this five year old who could still eek out further improvement. MUSTAQBAL (E/W)
17:30 Windsor The second of our two selections comes in a sprint handicap down at Windsor. The final race on the card sees a very open contest where Dashing Poet fills the spot of market leader. Two consecutive wins on the all-weather shows he’s at the top of his game and looks to make it three in a row here. No doubt he’s the horse that’s shown the most form wise but he’s up against a lot of likely improvers who haven’t displayed their true potential as of yet and an each way bet looks the preferable option. Met By Moonlight comes in to the race on the back of a very unlucky run at Lingfield and if truth be told that result can be ignored. Prior to that a second placed finish on his handicap debut looked mightily promising and despite being a maiden looks to pose a big threat. I’m opting for a bigger priced runner in the form of Tea El Tee. Heavily backed in his last race at Kempton where he finished a close third. A drop back in trip to five furlongs should suit and should strip much fitter for his return to action last month. A low weight (made even lower by the apprentices claim) and a decent draw should aid his chances today. TEA EL TEE (E/W)
