18:45 Wolverhampton A low grade 5f sprint contest at Wolverhampton on the all weather looks to be a nice opportunity for Michael Appleby’s yard to continue their excellent recent form. They look to have found the ideal chance for It Must Be Faith to go one better after just failing to land the spoils here over 6f on Monday. The minimum trip is no inconvenience and the drop in class makes it the one to beat in this field. The only slight concern for the 10-year-old is his mounting losing run, but he has tumbled a long way in the weights and should take all the beating in this one so gets the confident nod with the stable in such great recent form. Ollie Pears’ Roaring Rory landed his first ever handicap success over course and distance last week, this is tougher under the penalty though, so he has more than ever on his plate and made find the follow up bid much tougher. Dandilion from the Alex Hales yard has been placed in similar grade handicaps over course and distance the last twice and is still lightly raced, so she may be the the main threat to the selection, but her inconsistency is a real worry. IT MUST BE FAITH (WIN) – NAP
20:15 Wolverhampton A tricky little three-year-old maiden to end proceedings on the all weather at Wolverhampton with a number of likely contenders. Jack the Truth for the George Scott yard was a disappointment as favourite on debut after strong market support, but wasn’t helped by running wide into the straight at Lingfield. He has the assistance of Jamie Spencer tonight, but needs to step up on that effort to land this among a dangerous field. David Barron’s Logi has already failed to get his head in front in five attempts as a two year old for Richard Hannon, but he starts his three year old campaign off a workable mark of 75 and he sets a clear standard in this field. The new stable are bang in form, but definitely the most exposed in the line up and may be vulnerable to a real improver. Michael Dods’ horse Lostock looks the one to take a chance on here. A modest sixth of 10 on track debut for Richard Fahey, but signs of clear ability and excuses for that run after blowing the start and racing with the choke out. He was backed off the boards last time out at Chelmsford when it looked like defeat was out of the question. Unfortunately, the horse bolted on the way to the post on his intended debut for the yard, so we never got to find out if he could justify that support. A lot more expected this time and this looks a good opportunity to land the spoils for a shrewd yard, so he gets the nod to realise his promise at the third attempt. LOSTOCK (WIN)
