The Roger Varian trained Ideological was staying on all the time when an unlucky second to an impressive winner at Newcastle last week. That effort was still a step up and progress on his easy debut win so with further progress expected and him being pitched straight back into battle just seven days later, he is a clear selection to make it two wins in three runs tonight. Mark Johnston’s runners are always feared in this sort of contest and so Joe Fanning and Sky Defender would rate as the main danger to the selection, while Breezing is an interesting newcomer to note in the market for the Sylvestre Kirk team.
