13:15 Lingfield
Jason Watson’s appointment as new stable jockey for the Roger Charlton yard has the whole racing world on notice and he might just have a statement winner here today at Lingfield to prove why he landed the job. Watson takes the mount on Saeed Bin Suroor trained, Blue Mountain, who goes handicapping for the first time here and looks a sure fire improver. He will need to improve on recent displays to land this, but always looked one to improve for the step into handicap company having been gelded since his last run and the champion apprentice looks primed to steer him to victory today. The main danger will likely come from Keith Dalgleish’s runner Woodside Wonder who comes here looking to follow up under a penalty having romped away from the re-opposing Times Past by four lengths. Adam Kirby is booked so a bold bid is on the cards but this is a step up in class and he may be vulnerable to the unexposed Godolphin runner who gets the nod.
