16:25 WOLVERHAMPTON
Of the eight runners set to go to post in this six furlong handicap only one of them holds a 100% strike rate at the course. It may be a bit unfair as a handful of the field are yet to step foot on to the race course here at Wolverhampton but the stat still seems worthy of note. The same horse also hails from a yard with the highest winning percentage in the past fortnight, has a jockey on board with the highest wins to rides percentage in the past fortnight and the horse also holds the highest winning percentage on an artificial surface. When you add all of those statistics together it beggars belief that Union Rose has opened up as big as 12/1 with some bookmakers. The six year old may have had a total of 44 runs to his name but he’s still quite young and now residing off a handicap mark lower than he’s been victorious at before I cannot look past Ron Harris’ charge.
The super consistent Nautical Haven tries once again to find the finishing line first but with four consecutive second placed finishes you have to question the horses desire to get its head in front.
Afandem looks a potential threat but that’s simply based on the connections he represents and there’d have to be some serious turn around in form compared to what he’s been displaying of late.
