RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

17:25 Bath

Toolatetodelegate overcame an off putting high draw when landing this twelve months ago, housed in exactly the position this time one would think she is up against it although her mark offers plenty of encouragement and she is two from three over course and distance. Lily Of Year missed the break before finishing with fair rattle at Windsor last time, she appears to have her kinks though she has only had half a dozen starts and this might not take much winning. Captain Ryan is back on his last winning mark and is a five time winner here, he wears the tongue tie for the first time and is entitled to go close. Dalness Express has every chance if reproducing his effort at Windsor last time, from a handicapping point of view he really ought to win however, with just one victory from 25 starts, nerves of steel are required. Mrs Todd ran her best race to date last time and is worthy of a mention though despite her wayward tendencies, Lily Of Year is taken to break her maiden tag.

LILY OF YEAR (WIN)

20:45 Punchestown

You can tell that Summer is fast approaching as we see jumps racing taking place in the evening and tonight’s Punchestown card is where our selection is set to run.

We have to wait until the final race of the day where a horse with a very hefty price tag is set to make his stable debut for trainer Joseph O’Brien. 6 year old Dlauro was purchased for a hefty £410,000 after winning his one and only point to point race. He aims to remain unbeaten since last racing over a year ago and chances are he’s likely to do so. The booking of jockey Derek O’Connor is a noticeable additional positive and hailing from such a top yard the horse has an abundance of potential and wouldn’t need to be a superstar to win this.

The more obvious dangers is the Emmet Mullins trained Argent Et Or who looks to build upon his 4th placed effort when last seen and The Rubinator who has finished 2nd and showed he has some level of ability.

I don’t expect the selection to be a massive price odds wise but if you’re on the hunt for a likely winner today you won’t get much better than Dlauro.
