Attainment showed plenty of promise last season and signed off his campaign with a hard fought success over course and distance. Making his handicap debut today off a mark of just 79 and hailing from a yard currently operating with a near 40% strike rate over the last fortnight, he will surely find races in this sphere and looks on a decent mark. Shanghai Grace landed the hat-trick in good style when comfortably winning here last month, this probably demands much more although he doesn’t appear to have been overly hampered by the handicapper and respect is afforded. Winter Light and Magical Wish also make appeal in a hot looking race, however, James Tate can do little wrong at present and Jamie Spencer is taken to pounce late aboard his lightly raced Attainment.
