RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

20:00 Dundalk Despite still being a maiden Ragtime Red looks likely to go off as clear favourite. A drop back to a mile looks a positive move and it wouldn’t be out of the realms of possibility to see him lose his maiden tag this evening. That being said however he could just as easily turn out to be a proverbial bridesmaid and is worth taking on. Course and distance victor Poetic Choice looks a very lively challenger after a much more encouraging effort last time out. A definite player who could easily grab place money. As with Poetic Choice there is only one other course and distance winner and Cresendo is our idea of this evenings victor. The bookies give him no chance with his huge odds but that seems a tad unfair. Looking through the form and you’ll see that his most encouraging recent effort came over today’s trip here at Dundalk when finishing fourth of ten runners just four starts back. Prior to that run he finished second over course and distance with more weight to carry today. With recent poor performances he’s plummeted in weight and now sits on his last winning mark. With decent form figures when seen under these conditions he definitely deserves a shot. CRESENDO (WIN) – NAP
