The first race at the North Yorkshire venue gives a great opportunity to young female riders as this lady amateur rider contest opens the card.

More synonymous with his runners on the flat it’s interesting to see trainer Archie Watson sadly six year old Irish import Bazarov. A string of poor performances were put behind him when finishing a more encouraging second placed effort at Limerick. If he can put in a repeat performance he should go close especially with the more experienced Brodie Hampson in the saddle.

Course and distance winner Rockliffe will pose an obvious threat especially from an in-form yard and if the addition of blinkers eek out further improvement from Theatre Act she’s capable of being in the mix.
