RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (TUESDAY)

19:10 Newbury

A mile and a half handicap at Newbury features today.

Perfect Illusion is a consistent type who looks to be suited by today’s conditions.

Andrew Baldings horses continue in good form, and he looks sure to feature, but he has had a few chances and is overlooked for win purposes.

Mackaar and Get Back Get Back looked to be improving, but both have to bounce back from moderate runs, if they do they could pose a threat.

The two to concentrate on here are the joint top weights. Saroog definitely has more to offer this season. Progressive last season and with De Souza on board looks the main danger to the selection Infrastructure.

Although he hasn’t quite delivered yet what he had promised, time is on his side. After a respectable run at Newmarket on seasonal debut, the step back up in trip is a positive move. With trainer Martyn Meades horses seemingly in form, the looks a good opportunity to kick start his season.

INFRASTRUCTURE  (WIN)

20:45 Newbury

There’s plenty of runners to sift through here in this six furlong sprint at Newbury but Raincall is one to stick with. The lightly raced four year old looks to be a likely improver after winning her handicap debut. The Henry Candy horse is ridden by a jockey who is well and truly in-form in the shape of Harry Bentley who’s confidence is undoubtedly through the roof as he’s been riding at his career best in recent weeks.

A handicap debutant in Lilbourne Star looks a very interesting runner. Clive Cox specialises in sprint races of this nature and with Adam Kirby on-top his runner will have a good chance after a promising 6th placed effort last time.

The very consistent Cent Flying is bound to be there or thereabouts especially with the eye-catching booking of Oisin Murphy and another worth mentioning is the only course victor in the field Englishman who sits on a very handicap mark and has a decent record here at Newbury.

It’ll be a tough race to pick the winner of but Raincall gets the nod none the less.
