15:25 Lingfield With the weather putting pay to most of the UK’s racing we find ourselves analysing a low grade selling race on the all-weather. It’s far removed from the top action over in Ireland but nevertheless this contest is where our bet of the day resides. Trainer Mick Appleby has had hatfuls of recent winners and if the form of his yard continues I’m hoping he can add to his tally here. Topamichi has been a shadow of his former self in his most recent efforts but a return to anything like his best will stand him in great stead. Enlisting the services of all-weather maestro Luke Morris is a shrewd move by connections and a big run can be expected as he lines up in this low grade event. The relatively unknown quantity The Jungle VIP has only raced four times in total so is very hard to judge. He wouldn’t need to be anything special to figure in a race of this nature but it’s very hard to gage what sort of showing we can expect. One that raises an eyebrow slightly is Down Time. With one win and a place in just four previous runs on an artificial surface he should handle today’s conditions. I couldn’t be 100% certain that this trip will suit but it wouldn’t be out of the realms of possibility for him to do well at a decent price. TOPAMICHI (WIN) – NAP
