Trainer Ruth Carr has well and truly a bad patch with no victories from 29 entries in the past fortnight but don’t let that deter you from backing her runner King’s Coinage. Residing off 9lbs lower than his last winning mark he put in an extremely eye-catching performance at Thirsk last time. He looked mightily unlucky that day getting boxed in multiple times before flying home near the finish. If he has better luck in running in what looks a less competitive affair expect him to finish much closer this time around.

The inconsistent top weight Wotabreeze won this race last year and looks to have a great chance of retaining his crown but his inconsistent nature makes him hard to catch right.

Of the rest both Trautmann and Hilborough look obvious threats but if Kings Coinage can improve on his encouraging recent effort he’s the one to be on.
