RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (TUESDAY)

15:45 Beverley Unfortunately for those punters hunting for a bit of value there’s only seven runners so just the two places on offer but that won’t deter us from a horse that looks a great each way punt. In the paper you’ll only see the horses flat form but Waterclock was last seen on a racecourse when winning a hurdles race back in May. A fourth placed finish at Pontefract prior to that looks a decent effort and as his weight plummets he looks to have a much greater chance than his odds suggest. He won this race in 2015 and with ten pounds less weight to burden than two years ago things look to be in his favour. Corpus Chorister would be right in the mix judged on his last run at Chester but the powerhouse stables of King and Johnston have representatives in the form of Grumeti and The Blues Master which I fear most. WATERCLOCK (E/W)

16:00 Bath It’s not often you’ll encounter a race where 80% of the runners have a previous course success to their name but that’s exactly what we’ve got on offer in the penultimate race on the card at Bath. Five runners look set to go to post and we’ve pinpointed the bottom weight Archimedes as the one to be on. A very encouraging third placed finish at Doncaster indicates the four year old is primed for a big run and with less in the way of competition this time around should be right up there come the winning post. Babyfact and Secret Agent pose huge threats to the selection but as the pair creep up in weight it may be too much of a task to overcome today. ARCHIMEDES (WIN)
