Jack The Truth has taken well to the fibresand, winning twice here at Southwell in recent weeks. A 6lbs penalty will make things tougher but he won in commanding fashion on both occasions and looks capable of further progression so should prove tough to beat here.

Kommander Kirkup arrives here following two wins and a close second over course and distance and probably would have won all three if he hadn’t plotted such a wide course last time out. He rates as a live danger but steps up from Class 6 races to a Class 4 for today’s race and as such may have to settle for minor honours.

Hammer Gun has won four from seven at the course and is respected accordingly, although both stable and jockey have struggled to find winners in recent weeks and as such is probably best watched.
