We head on up to North Yorkshire where Thirsk plays host to an eight race card and the final contest of the afternoon is where we’ll see our bet of the day.

Although it is not 100% certain as of yet, it seems highly likely that Silvestre De Sousa will claim another jockeys championship and we hope he adds to his tally of winning rides onboard Stay In The Light. A return to turf after a respectable spin on the all-weather may just be what the horse needs. This longer trip, against her own sex and coming out of a stable who’ve grabbed a handful of winners in recent weeks the three year old filly looks worth punting.

Top weight Calliope has put in decent performances here at Thirsk before and a more encouraging third placed effort at Wetherby shows a return to the winners enclosure may be imminent. If our selection falters expect Kenneth Slack’s charge to be picking up the pieces.

Of the remainder both Silver Gleam and Blue Havana have it within their lockers to grab place money.
