15:35 Chelmsford
Making his first appearance as a trainer at Chelmsford today is a certain Aidan O’Brien. With today’s conditional stakes built as a road towards Churchill Downs in Kentucky he sends two promising horses over from his native Ireland. By far the one that peaks most interest is found at the bottom of the race card in the form of U S S Michigan. A reasonably impressive winner when making his return at Dundalk and talk of the town is that this horse has a lot of Ballydoyle’s hopes pinned to it for this term. It’s safe to say this will be the toughest test he’s faced to date with the obvious threats posed by both Fanaar and Dark Vision.Fanaar looked impressive when winning at Lingfield last month but that was in a much less competitive race where as Dark Vision may need the run after having the winter off. Both look lively contenders but it’s hard to look past Ballydoyle’s U S S Michigan who should, in theory, take all the beating.
