13:50 Chester A typically competitive handicap at the Roodee, where eleven sprinters contest the opening race. The horses at the head of the market seem to have been drawn in the plum inside stalls, usuallyan advantage on this tight track. Copper Knight (drawn 1) made a satisfactory start to the season at Musselburgh finishing just behind Mokaatil. There shouldn’t be a great deal between the pair today, but preference would be for the Tim Easterbyrunner. He is slightly better off at the weights and is arguably more likely to handle the rain affected ground. Growl is the horse that stands out in this field. Undeniably well handicapped and usually contesting the hottest handicaps, this looks a good opportunity and the race could play to his strengths. Owned by Dr Marwan Koukash who loves to have winners at the course, and trained by Richard Fahey. With plenty off pace likely on the easier ground its not hard to envisage Growl picking the field off late on.
