18:05 Hamilton
We head all the way up to Hamilton for the first race of their evening card where amateur riders get their opportunity to shine.
Course winners such as Carbon Dating, Corton Lad, Be Perfect, Duke Of Yorkshire and Donnachies Girl look to be the most obvious selections.
Carbon Dating perhaps has a bit too much weight to carry and although Corton Lad is on a very good handicap mark hasn’t won in a very long time.
Be Perfect and Donnachies Girl both put in decent efforts last time out to finish 3rd respectively and there’s no doubt they’ll be expected to go close again.
All of the above being said however it’s veteran Duke Of Yorkshire that gets the nod. His form figures of late are nothing short of woeful. Up until his last run he’d only finished ahead of 7 of his 64 rivals in five consecutive races. It’s interesting to note that he’s been running below today’s trip and returning to the 1m5f distance is certain to suit. He’s had five top two finishes from eight attempts over this trip and after a more pleasing run most recently he’s destined to go closer this time around.
