RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (THURSDAY)

15:55 Doncaster The fifth race on the card at one of Yorkshire’s premier racecourses sees a selection of sprinters line up for this five furlong contest. In terms of recent form you have to look to both Celsius and Red Stripes however, despite both having obvious chances, it’s the eight year old Bashiba that I like the look of. The Nigel Tinkler trained gelding has been disappointing of late but his handicap mark and course record makes this sprinting veteran too good to ignore. With 13lbs less weight on his back than his highest rated win and with a course and distance success to boot it’s hard to see past Rowan Scott’s mount. Of the six remaining runners Dragon Beat could throw down a challenge and shouldn’t be readily ignored either. BASHIBA (WIN)
