Arthur's Sixpence is clearly thriving at present, returning for the summer jumps with a hat-trick of victories that was rounded off with a convincing win at Fontwell earlier this month. As a result he carries a 7lbs penalty today, however is due to go up a further 5lbs next week, hence the quicker turnaround between races. A bold jumper whose forecast price reflects his chances.
That said, I am going to take him on with the Christian Williams trained Kitty's Light who was a winner first time up over fences at Southwell at the beginning of the month. He travelled smoothly throughout the race, looked a natural jumping the larger obstacles and only had to be given a nudge to breeze in to the lead where he won hard-held by almost three lengths. He has been given a 6lbs rise but talented jockey Jack Tudor claims 5lbs and the trainers' record of five wins from nine runners at the course gives me confidence that they think Kitty's Light can follow up here.
