14:30 Ayr This is something of a race for rogues and trusting any of the runners with anything other than minimal confidence would be foolish, that aside it has caught my attention in the last few weeks that Linda Perratt has taken a couple of similar looking contests. Represented by Stardrifter today it would appear he will unlikely find another race as bad as this and given he’s threatened in similar company already, he is handed a most speculative vote at decent odds. Mischief Managed has only had the handful of runs and looks sure to be popular in the betting, quite what his form adds up to is debatable but he has time on his side. Be Bold, Ingleby Angel and Highway Robber all have claims of sorts in what is a truly woeful contest. STARDRIFTER (E/W)

15:35 Ayr Dark Devil arrives here in good heart and his recent second at Chester last time intimated he was ready for a step back up in trip, proven on the ground and likely to get a decent pace to aim at, all things point to a big run. Prying Pandora is a stablemate of the aforementioned Dark Devil, in decent form herself you rather suspect she will give it a good go though presumably Hanagan had the choice of ride. Jay Kay finally cashed in on a falling mark last time and he’s a danger if getting another soft lead however, Dark Devil gets the nod. DARK DEVIL (WIN) – NAP
