15:10 Uttoxeter
The Cashel Man won three times on the flat before moving to Nicky Henderson and proved he can also handle obstacles when second to stablemate Pym on debut at Kempton last month. He put in a couple of sketchy jumps but stayed on strongly and although he lost out by a neck he still finished sixteen lengths clear of third and will undoubtedly improve for the experience so can go one better and gain victory today.
Dan Skelton rarely leaves Uttoxeter without a winner (39% winning strike rate here in the last twelve months) and runs Ardlethen who was last seen winning over course and distance in December. This doesn’t look much tougher despite being a higher class race so he would have to be considered, although it is worth noting that despite the trainer form at the course he has been struggling to find winners in recent weeks.
A final mention goes to Trio For Rio who has proved his stamina over similar trips having won twice in point-to-points and posting a win and a place over just short of three miles at Bangor in recent months, beating the afore-mentioned Ardlethen when winning at Bangor.
