16:30 Redcar The flat turf season is well underway with two meetings on the level on grass. We head up to Redcar to take in a competitive looking ten furlong handicap. Redcar as a venue poses quite a unique challenge for horses and if you find a runner with decent course form it’s a massive plus. We have two former course and distance winners set to line up in the form of Remmy D and God Willing. Returning to the scene of his previous success Remmy D resides at just 1lb higher than his last win and despite a disappointing effort at Doncaster should find this an easier task however it’s the other course and distance winner I’m siding with. God Willing may well be eight years of age but he finished one place ahead of the aforementioned Remmy D at Doncaster and has form figures of 221 here at Redcar. He returns to Redcar with less weight to carry which will undoubtedly aid his chances. A couple of mediocre runs this year should see him fit and well and although perhaps not the classiest runner lining up Declan Carroll’s runner looks to go well. Another worth mentioning has to be the ultra consistent top weight Zorawar who’s had a very good winter on the all-weather having racked up two victories and two seconds this year. As such David O’Meara’s five year old will undoubtedly be there or thereabouts despite never winning on turf in the UK. GOD WILLING (WIN) – NAP
