RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (MONDAY)

16:15 Thirsk

Ingleby Hollow won a couple of hurdles races at Sedgefield earlier in the year, before switching back to the flat in April. He hasn’t been in the same form in three turf runs so far this season but returns to a course where he has won before and looks to have a good chance of getting back to winning ways now dropped down in class and 4lbs below his last winning mark.

Mark Johnston has his stable in good order so last time out winner Francophilia looks a danger despite having 5lbs more to carry this time out, while Remember The Days and Contrebasse could both play a part if stepping up on their respective last runs.

15:45 Thirsk

We’re set to tackle a tough looking sixteen runner handicap that, in all honesty, is void of much class. With almost half the field (7 runners) still with their maiden tags the form book is slim pickings. Of those seven yet to taste success the lightly raced Grey Berry, Elikapeka and Picture Your Dream look the most likely to improve and they wouldn’t need to be anything special to win a race like this.

Course and distance winner Supaulette has done well recently with three consecutive top three finishes including a win in a similar race at this venue. She acts well here at Thirsk and it’d be no surprise to see her go close despite the slight rise in weight since her last success.

Closer to the bottom of the weights you’ll find another course and distance winner in the form of Rosy Ryan. Disappointing in her two runs this season but they were over trips that were just too far. A drop back in trip and with a 50% strike rate over course and distance today could well be the day that she’s let loose. With 14lbs less weight on her back since her last success and with top Northern jockey Cam Hardie booked for the ride this nine year old mare looks to roll back the clocks and put some of these youngsters in their place.
