RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (MONDAY)

16:10 Yarmouth Silvestre De Sousa is all but named as this season’s champion flat jockey and as such any horse he climbs aboard has to be respected. He’s set to ride King Kevin in this race and after the edition of headgear seemed to bring about improvement last time we hope his progress continues. Ed Dunlop’s runner is pretty lightly raced so it’s not out of the question that he’ll up his game and hopefully find his first victory. Top weight Rock On Dandy should prefer a return to turf and Dixon looks to improve on a decent all weather effort so look likely contenders. KING KEVIN (WIN) – NAP

16:55 Musselburgh The penultimate race on the card in Scotland looks to have unearthed a runner well worth noting. The Iain Jardine trained, course and distance winner, Lucky Violet put in a lacklustre effort on her seasonal reappearance but there’s no doubt she’ll be much fitter for that run. After winning a Class 4 handicap two starts back it’s interesting to note she now lines up in a lower grade race. Yes she’s still got a hefty weight to carry but against this poorer level of opposition she could go very close at a big price. Honourable mentions go to the likely favourite Art Echo and the two runners from Keith Dalgleish’s yard Forever A Lady and Inglorious, all of which demand respect. LUCKY VIOLET (E/W)
