The phrase “horses for courses” is often banded around this great sport but when it comes to Southwell never a truer word was spoken. This very unique course is a demanding task and any horse that has good form here previously is a huge positive. With that in mind ten year old Masterful Act makes most appeal. The veteran has raced here at Southwell a total of eleven times and has won on seven occasions and placed twice. He clearly adores this venue and after some very poor performances he comes back to Southwell with little to no weight to carry. If he can recapture his previous course form he’ll be right there come the winning post. Fellow course and distance winners Restive and Luv U Whatever look those most likely to cause any trouble for our selection but we’re siding with the Andrew Mullen ridden runner.
