RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (MONDAY)

15:35 Ayr

Marnie James was an extremely impressive winner last time out, beating Eeh Bah Gum (who had previously won four on the bounce) by four lengths and taking his winning tally to four from seven since being fitted with a tongue strap. On that basis a 6lbs penalty doesn’t look likely to halt his progress and the hat-trick beckons.

It has been twelve months since Line Of Reason last won but today sees a drop in class and a solid third at The Curragh last time out suggest he will be winning again soon, while Mick Easterby has his stable in fine form so Carlton Frankie, who will appreciate the drop back to five furlongs, is also feared.

A final mention goes to previous course and distance winner Longroom who has gone up 5lbs for victory last time out but has a good record over the minimum trip so could also make his presence felt.
