15:40 Pontefract
Mick Channon has had a fair bit of success with his runners at Pontefract this season, returning two wins and two placed efforts from five runners here in 2018. He runs three today and it is his first of the day, So Near So Farhh, that gets the NAP treatment. The three-year-old filly has won her last two, both in testing conditions, with the latest of these coming here at Pontefract when beating the re-opposing Rubenesque by over three lengths despite being eased close home. On that basis a 5lbs rise looks more than manageable so she is taken to continue the stables’ excellent form at the Yorkshire course.
The aforementioned Rubenesque looks to be the biggest danger but will need to step up if she is to reverse the form, while both Angel Gabriel and Forbidding look likely to challenge Rubenesque for the minor honours.
