Ayr 16:05
Brother McGonagall has won his last three, beating a dual subsequent winner on penultimate run at Beverley and looking even more impressive when winning by three lengths over course and distance last time out, making all the running and travelling strongly before being asked to win his race and doing so with the minimum of fuss. He carries a 6lbs penalty but this is his optimum trip and he once again gets conditions to suit so he looks to have a great chance of visiting the winners’ enclosure for the fourth time in a row.
The biggest danger looks to be Presidential who boasts three wins and three placed efforts from his last six and races for the in-form yard of Roger Fell. He ran on well to grab third last time out, on only second attempt over a mile, and should continue to progress.
A mention should also go to both Mythical Madness and Poets Society who arrive on the back respective victories last time out. Preference of the two would be Mark Johnston’s runner but neither are prolific winners over this trip and I think both will be fighting it out for minor honours.
