RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (MONDAY)

14:20 Thirsk

E J Alston has won three from seven in the last two weeks and his only runner today is Redrosezorro who has won his last three, two coming at Catterick and one here at Thirsk. He looked impressive over seven furlongs last time out and should prove tough to beat with a similar run here.

Most of his rivals arrive here either out of form or unproven over the trip so it may be best to look at course form for possible dangers, with Cool Strutter 6lbs lower than when posting a couple of placed efforts at the course and Space War having a course and distance win to his name from 2014. Both would need to improve on recent runs but could grab place money if arriving on a good day.

Redrosezorro (WIN)

15:15 Wolverhampton

John Gosden has his stable firing on all cylinders at the moment and tends to do well with his runners at Wolves so Tivoli looks a strong candidate to visit the winners’ enclosure here. Beaten by the bob of a head over six furlongs on seasonal reappearance, he looks the type to improve for the step up in trip and should be primed for a big run.

Zahraa won over course and distance last time out but was all out to do so and is upped 3lbs so the bigger danger could be Ortiz who won over six furlongs at Kempton on penultimate run and was only a head away from victory over today’s trip on final run of last season.
