Lion Hearted has been in scintillating form since moving to Michael Appleby and switching to an all-weather surface, arriving here looking to make it four wins in a row. The step up to a mile isn’t expected to cause issue as he sees out his races very strongly and although taking on higher-rated rivals he has taken to the all-weather like a duck to water. The ease with which he has been winning suggests he is more than capable of taking the step up in class in his stride and making another trip to the winners’ enclosure today.

Elixsoft ran a solid-enough race when third of six here at Newcastle earlier in the month, finishing just a couple of lengths behind the winner and a length behind Playfull Spirit who won next time out. She has a couple of really close second-placed efforts over course and distance to her name so shouldn’t be inconvenienced by the step back up to a mile and is again partnered with Callum Rodriguez who has an excellent record at Newcastle so looks the main danger to our selection.
