RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (FRIDAY)

14:15 Doncaster

Valley Of Fire may not be the force of old though he showed plenty of encouragement when a good seventh here last time, when running on all too late. Once rated in the 90s and a winner off a mark of 86, this first foray into 0-70 company could well work the oracle. Tukhoom hasn’t won for while, he has gone well on his return before though and he should be there or thereabouts. Fighting Temeraire is another lurking on a very handy mark, this trip looks about perfect for him and he showed much more last time. Atalanta’s Boy is totally unexposed and will surely find races this term, however, now 16lbs below his last winning mark and with a good pace to aim at looking assured, Valley Of Fire is taken to cash in for trainer Les Eyre.

VALLEY OF FIRE (WIN)  – NAP (Cambridge News)

14:15 Doncaster Doncaster showcases some quality handicaps this afternoon and we take in the second race on the card from the Yorkshire venue. It looks very competitive with a total of seventeen runners set to tackle the seven furlong race however the Dean Ivory trained Fighting Temeraire looks primed to put his best foot forward. He now resides off a staggering 28lbs lower handicap mark since his last victory and a 2nd placed finish in a similar race here at Doncaster shows he’ll handle today’s conditions. He’ll have dusted off any cobwebs after a winter campaign and a return to turf should also be an advantage that will see him go close. The lightly raced Atalanta’s Boy has a tonne of questions to answer but with only a few runs under his belt has bags of room for improvement so deserves a market check. Of the rest Miss Sheridan, Royal Connoisseur and Abushamah have enough to battle it out for prize money and it’d be dangerous to overlook course and distance winner Art Echo who goes well fresh.
