Within this eleven runner field there’s a horse who holds a very good record on artificial surfaces. With six top three finishes from nine starts on the all weather four year old Captain Dion goes well here at Dundalk. A third placed finish at this venue last time was his first run for new trainer F Birrane. A drop in weight will aid this horses chances and hailing from a yard who have their runners in good order should have a great chance.
Youngsters Confrontational and Alfredo Arcano look likely players as does course and distance winning veteran Russian Soul who, if he bounces back to anything like his best form, will likely finish in the money.
