RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (FRIDAY)

17:50 Newcastle

The yard of trainer Brian Ellison hasn’t been at there best of lat but I’m hoping the northern trainer can turn things around with their five year old, course and distance winner ALGAFFAAL. Unfortunately the former Newcastle victor has been just as poor this term but his course and distance form is one win and one place from just three starts. Ignore his latest run here over a mile as this drop in trip is more up his street. Now in a lower grade and with less weight to carry his chances should certainly increase.

Of the remainder Al Suil Eile and Insurplus should give our selection the most to think about.

ALGAFFAAL

19:15 Dundalk

A horse I tipped previously when finish ninth I may be a total fool for siding with them again but I can’t shake the notion that KINCH has a good performance in his locker. He was heavily backed into favourite last time but now resides below his last winning mark. His draw isn’t the best but looks worth going in again with the four year old.

KINCH

20:30 Newcastle

We head back over to Newcastle for our third and final selection where I’m siding with a horse who’s only shown middling form this season. Trainer David O’Meara has sent out eleven winners in the past fortnight and I’m hoping he can add another to his tally with top weight DAZZLING DES. He’s finished last in two of his last three starts but when he last tackled Newcastle’s course he finished a close second. He now drops down to Class 5 company for this first time in his eighteen race career and I’m hoping now at this level is enough to see him do well.
