A few of these bumped into each other in a jump jockeys handicap over course and distance a fortnight go, a race in which Fendale finally bounced back to form. Often well backed Bryan Smarts’ six year old has every chance of going close once more today, however, his six pounds penalty for that makes this trickier and his overall profile hardly screams at him being an obvious one to follow up. Excessable won this last season off a higher mark and ran well behind Fendale from a tough draw last time, significantly better off at the weights today, he is taken to turn the tables and retain this prize. Bashiba and Harome are others with fair claims in an open looking heat.
