Mark Johnston’s progressive 3yo Matterhorn looks the one to beat here today. He could not have been more impressive when accounting easily for a decent field on handicap debut at Lingfield last time out by two lengths. The quick return out indicates there is plenty more to come and despite giving weight away to some battle hardened types, he will likely prove too strong once again this afternoon for all-weather specialist Franny Norton in the saddle. The main danger will likely come from Mama Africa who has proven course form and is back on a winning mark.
