PREVIEWS & TIPS (TUESDAY)

Newcastle 14:40 Genres has winning form at Newcastle having won here in a Class 6 on penultimate run and was only beaten by a half length when third in a Class 4 last time out. He has won previously over todays’ shorter trip, races off an unchanged mark and takes a slight drop in Class so looks to be the one to follow here. The biggest danger looks to be Taopix who has an excellent record at Newcastle with three wins and three placed from eight runs. He arrives in great form with two wins from his last four but as a result is now on a career high mark and with both these victories coming over a further trip he may find ten furlongs a bit on the sharp side off his new mark. Another worthy of a mention is Gabrial The Terror who sports a first time visor and has an interesting jockey booked by way of in-form Paul Hanagan. He is only 2lbs above his last winning mark but has won off higher in the past and could be a big player if taking to the Newcastle surface. Genres (E/W if 9/2+) – Nap

Newcastle 15:40 Palenville has placed in four of her last five and was was beaten less than a length when last seen here earlier this month. She steps back up to seven furlongs for today’s race and looks likely to be in the mix again, although is still yet to win over this trip despite five attempts. Barwah has notched up three wins from eight runs here at Newcastle but all victories have come over a mile so she may struggle over a shorter trip off a career high mark, while The Yellow Bus has won and placed over todays’ trip in maidens and won on return from a break previously so could prove to be a danger, however preference is for bottom weight Spinwheel who was an all the way winner over course and distance last time out and still looks well treated off a 5lbs higher mark on only her second run in a handicap.
