PADDOCKS PATENT (TUESDAY) – In Association With TitanBet

15:15 Muselburgh Pea Shooter is a previous course and distance winner, winning on his only prior visit to Musselburgh, and won with what looked like a little in hand last time out. A 2lbs rise will make things a little tougher but Brian Ellison has been in great form in recent weeks so his seven year old could be the answer in a tricky looking race. Bashiba is an extremely consistent runner over the minimum trip having posted seven wins and seven placed efforts from twenty four runs. As with Pea Shooter he has a 2lbs rise to contend with for a win last time out but unlike the Brian Ellison runner he didn’t look to have much left in the locker and has been well beaten on both previous runs off a mark of 80 so may have to settle for minor honours here. Of the remainder, both Star Cracker and Chookies Lass merit a mention on the back of respective win and placed efforts last time out although Star Cracker has a 6lbs penalty to shoulder while Chookies Lass hasn’t won in almost two years. Pea Shooter (E/W if 9/2+)

16:15 Musselburgh Deben has been raised 5lbs for a convincing victory over todays’ trip when last seen at Catterick a couple of weeks ago but with trainer Kevin Ryan posting a 24% winning strike rate at Musselburgh in the last twelve months, along with jockey Joe Doyle boasting a near 30% winning strike rate in the last two weeks he looks sure to be in the mix again here. Despite this, I am taking a chance on Richard Fahey’s only runner here, by way of Novinophobia. The three year old has a decent record over seven furlongs having won once and placed three times from seven runs, with the win recorded off just a 1lbs lower mark here at Musselburgh last July. The trainer has not been in great form recently but has won almost 25% of all races entered here over the last five years with level stakes profit levels of almost £80 to a £1 stake over the same time period. With the horse in decent form having placed last time out, with the fifth from that race going on to win next time out, he is taken to maintain both his and his trainers’ form here. Others worthy of a mention include Circuitous who hasn’t won in almost three years but posted a much improved effort over course and distance last time out, while Dark Crystal won at Ayr yesterday and could be a danger if taking her place here. Novinophobia (WIN)

16:30 Ffos Las David Evans’ Lady Mcguffy immediately catches the eye for a trainer who has an excellent level stakes profit record here at Ffos Las, however on closer inspection she may not be the stables’ best chance of a winner on todays’ card as she has attempted the minimum trip on a couple of occasions without success and was a below-par fifth when last seen. Diminutive has only one career win in thirty-three attempts but has ran well in defeat on all three previous runs here at Ffos Las (form here reads 323) and has posted two placed efforts since returning from a short break and should be in the mix with another similar effort here. Preference however is for Go Amber Go who, although only second last time out she was over two lengths clear of third and was beaten by Quantum Dot who got first run and was able to exploit a recently reduced handicap mark. A ready winner over todays’ trip on her penultimate run, she brings the most consistent recent form to the table and should be able to get back to winning ways here. Go Amber Go (WIN)
