The early favourite On The Case steps up to this distance for the second time in his career; he didn’t perform at all when tried at this distance over a year ago and the trainer must think it’s now the right time for him to try it again but he does look like two miles is his distance.
Murtys Delight has been given a huge chance by the handicapper as he is now two pounds lower than his previous winning mark; he looks the one to beat today but he could end up finding one too good today.
The horse that stands out to me is Vertueux; even though he has either unseated his rider or fallen in his last three races due to some poor jumping Tony Carroll knows what it takes to get a horse back into form and with Lee Edwards still willing to keep the ride is a big positive to me and if he has finally got his jumping sorted he can be a real danger here today.

This maiden race on paper and past form looks a two horse race between Aristo Du Plessis and Beatu, the latter won over course and distance back in December 2013 and has only gone on to race once more since then and that was 325 days ago so there are question marks around him to be race fit after a long layoff, the former has been knocking on the door as of late and was unlucky last time out and with the drop in grade and trip it maybe his day today but I think there’s value in another horse and my selection.
My selecton is Tomorrow’s Legend who produced two good runs at the end of last year looked like he need his last run to get race fit again and with the ground at present to his liking he ticks all the right boxes to gives the other two a good race.

The two Godolphin horses look to be the early favourites in the market for this today with the connections expecting big things from both Rewritten and Rosenbaum this year, both horses come from good breeding connections but their form doesn’t reflect any of that so that’s why I’m dismissing them straight away.
The two that stand out to me are Smugglers Lane and Medicean Melody, these two battled it out two weeks ago over course and distance with the former just getting the better but the latter comes here on better terms today with a five pound claim from her jockey and has every scope to reverse things here.
Total Demolition takes a huge step up in trip which may suit and is probably best watched today after his win last time out at Kempton.
