PADDOCKS PATENT (TUESDAY)

15:40 Leicester

We start our day’s previews with a Class two handicap over a mile.

It’s a bit surprising seeing Beach Bar being  stepped up to this level after being a long way back in last place last time out; he may of been slightly hampered in the opening part of the race but there was nothing throughout that race which seemed to warrent this step up right now.

Melvin The Grate and You’re Fired have both been quite successful at this grade for some time now so it’s no surprise to see them both at the head of the market for this but the latter seems to say his best for York and the former looks a little to high in the weights right now to take this.

He’s No Saint as really struggled after winning at York back in July and is another who looks in the handicappers grip.

My selection Red Avenger may not have the best recent form to look at but he did Win ( in a dead heat) at Newcastle back in June and is currently  only two pounds higher today, this is his first run for Gary Moore after leaving Ed Dunlop’s yard and the change from blinkers to a visor could be a positive impact.

16:40 Leicester

We stay at Leicester for our second preview a Class four handicap over eleven furlongs.

Agent Gibbs looked like he was going to complete a four timer last time out after going up a combined eighteen pounds from the first three wins but was just out paced in the final strides, he’s once again be raised in the weights but still should produce another good run.

Master Of Speed has been racing over further as of late with limited success so the drop back to this  distance which he gained his only win at looks a very positive approach by Roger Varian and he should be very dangerous.

Noro Nim should be in the mix today back on the turf as his run at Wolverhampton was very poor but that may of been due to the surface so he is definitely one to watch.

My selection though is More Mischief; he was seeking his hat-trick last time out but probably found the step up in class a little beyond him that day so the return to this level should see him get back on track and at a price of 8/1 when writing this looks good E/W money.

More Mischief (E/W if 9/2+)

19:10 Kempton Park

We head to the polytrack for our final preview a Class five handicap over a mile.

Alketios won over course and distance last time out but that was in a lower grade than this and being raised six pounds off the back of the makes him look easy to oppose.

Swordbearer has been getting closer and closer with every run off of his current mark and wasn’t disgraced when finishing third last time out over course and distance; he shouldgive another good account today but may just find a couple too good again.

Ershaadaat sixth last time out doesn’t really tell the whole story as she was only two lengths behind the winner and the step up in trip could be the answer to what the right distance is for her.

The two that stand out to me are Buckland Beau and Rizal Park both have one on this track before so conditions suit and the latter won over course and distance in the past from a higher mark than this today and with his jockey’s claim also it gives a very strong case to back today, the latter was a beaten favourite last time out but may not be supported as well this time out but should be in the mix.
