PADDOCKS PATENT (TUESDAY)

15:00 Musselburgh

We start our days previews up in Scotland with a twelve furlong handicap.

It was a surprise to see Stag’s Leap compete last time out over this distance after he scored a hat-trick over hurdles just before but he wasn’t disgraced at all last time out finishing only just over a length behind the winner; he does have some past form over this trip but being penalized five pounds for that second may just be what pulls him back from the win once again.

Nomenklatura and Ghostly Arc went head to head last time out and finished in that order but the latter is clearly a lot better off in the weights now and should be able to reverse that form.

Emma Sayer mounts Nelson’s Bay once again and with the horse stepping up to this distance for the first time this could be finally a trip that will suit; he’s always looked more of a staying horse than a sprinter and with Emma’s five pound claim he could be very dangerous here.

Titus Bolt can never be overlooked in these type of contests and proved that when finishing second over course and distance last time out and should go close again today but i’m edging more and more to Nelson’s Bay to grab this today.

17:05 Curragh

We head to Ireland for our second preview of the day which currently see’s a huge field of 30 line up for this twelve furlong handicap.

Along The Shore looks like she’ll be heavily supported in this as she is getting better and better with every race and the  turn of foot she showed last time out to win was very impressive but the fact that she is coming here after just three days since her last start and upped five pounds is a real concern for me so it maybe looking elsewhere for a bit of value.

Annagh Haven relishes on fast ground and the fact she finally gets it here today as long as the rain stays away; she is a real danger on this quick surface and as long as she produced at the right time she should be in the mix for this today especially if she sp’s at 10/1 as she is as i’m writing this.

Bobskier  is another that really catches the eye as she is another who will relish this ground more that most and off her current mark she has been dangerous in the past and with Kevin Manning on board also is a real positive.

Mademoiselle Penny is another to consider especially for the future as well she won over this distance on her penultimate start and is only two pounds higher for tand once again another who should relish the ground.

with up to four places up for grabs in this race i’ll probably have a little flutter on Annagh Haven, Bobskier and Mademoiselle Penny  but for my selection i’m going to side more with Bobskier.

18:40 Wolverhampton.

We head to the all-weather for our final race of the day a one mile handicap.

I believe this could be a lot closer of an affair then the market suggest as Mark Johnston horse Revolutionist is currently around the evens mark as he heads for his hat-trick; he did win by over four lengths last time but his penalty should reel him in closer to his rivals this time out.

Idol Deputy won twice over course and distance two months ago and even though he is only two pounds higher for this this is a bigger ask in this type of company.

Wheat Sheaf didn’t produce when stepping up to class three company last time out after a good win at Windsor last time out but he should find this slightly easier today and should give the favorite a run for his money today.

Natalie Hambling rode Character Onesie to victory back in July and he’s probably down to a more realistic mark for this today especially with Natalie’s claim taken into account so i’m giving him one last chance to come good again today.
