PADDOCKS PATENT (TUESDAY)

15:20 Redcar

We start our day’s previews with a Division one handicap over six furlongs.

I thought at the start of the season Edgar Balthazar was one to watch out for this year and he dually obliged when finally getting his head in front at Newmarket last week; he’s been raised six pounds for that win and though he looks like he could still have the beating of Buccaneers Vault it’s unfortunate to say I don’t think he’ll follow that up here today.

Bop It was winning off a mark of 80 this time last year and held on well to finally get his head back in front at Haydock last month; he’s also up five pounds for that win but that only puts him on a mark of 73 so we could still see more yet.

Mighty Zip looks an interesting contender here; he wasn’t disgraced on his first two handicap bows in s higher grade than this and can probably be forgiven for his last run as he to me was poorly run that day and should do slot better in this grade today.

Tango Sky could be a real danger if the ground goes any softer and is probably best watched for now.

15:30 Leicester

We quickly head to Leicester for our second preview a Class four handicap over eleven furlongs.

This looks like a wide open affair with a few of these with obvious  chances.

English Summer has been in amazing form over the last two months notching up two win and a place in four races; he’s up five pounds for his win last week but should still be in the mix once again.

Eton Rambler finished just behind English Summer back in July and should be able to reverse that form here today as he is weighted to do so.

Irish Hawke was definitely tested over to far a distance after a good win over this distance before that and it maybe worth giving him another chance back at this trip.

High And Flighty could be a superstar waiting to come to the scene as she won here debut race at Ripon last month and a couple of the horses she had behind have gone on to win so she could turn out to be something special if winning here today and gets a tentative vote in a very competitive race.

16:40 Worcester

We taken on a twenty furlong handicap hurdle for our final preview of the day.

Lee Side Lady looks the early favourite in this after making all at Fontwell Park two weeks ago and even though she has a small penalty to negotiate it’s the distance that gives me concerns for her to be able to go in again today.

Iktiview has done well over this distance in the past and looks a stronger option then most of these to take this today; has placed twice around here this year and can race from a similar mark today.

Surprise Us has been passed from trainer to trainer over the years and has been tried at virtually every distance between seven and twenty one furlongs, it’s too hard to really give any good account  for her to do well today but I just got this nagging feeling she may just snatch a place.
