13:00 Redcar

We start our day’s previews with a wide open selling Stakes over a mile.

Mount Shamsan looked to be something special as a four year old but has completely gone off the boil since and the change of trainer hasn’t helped either but Gary Moore isn’t one of the best trainers  for nothing and putting back down to this distance should help Mount Shamsan turn himself around.

Call Me Crockett produced a surprise win at 18/1 in October at Ayr but couldn’t repeat that last time out from a six pound higher mark he’s since been given a slight helping hand by the handicapper and should go close once again.

Napoleonic faired well in France placing a few times but hasn’t quite shown any of that form as of yet and is yet to be tried on the turf in the UK so he must be one to keep an eye on.

Je T’aime Encore won over this distance three months ago and is another with claims as his last two runs have showed he’s probably  back to that kind of ability.

15:00 Redcar

We stay at Redcar for our second preview a fourteen furlong handicap.

Joe Fanning won this race last year and could be in with a chance to repeat that today with Smile That Smile; he takes a big step up in trip here today and even though he didn’t produce at all over twelve  furlongs he should of learnt from that and looks one to go close.

Stamina is no issue for Harvey’s Hope as he had been racing over two miles before winning over course and distance back in September; he’s only been raised three pounds for that success and should be able to go in again today.

Crakehall Lad seems to come good around this time of year and showed that last year by winning twice over course and distance; he’s now ten pounds lower this year and at his current price looks very overpriced for this.

Zenafire has been placed on his last two outings but that’s been over shorter but can never be ruled out stepping back up to this trip.

15:10 Southwell

We quickly head to Southwell for our final preview a two mile handicap on the fibresand.

Brassbound and Tartan Jura are both previous course and distance winners but both come here today from a long absence especially the latter as he’s not been seen since April 2014; he’s since joined a new yard so it’ll be good to see if his new training can get him ready for this today. The former did win by a considerable margin when last seen but is another with questions marks coming back to action from a long absence.

Social Climber has been hurdling as of late so the trip isn’t an issue but he’s down well at around the mile distances so is another one worth noting.

Rock Of Ages is another previous course and distance winner and also another who’s been tried over hurdles but he hasn’t produced anything on his last two outings here last month so is easily opposed.

Chevalgris won over this distance on the turf back in August from a two pound  lower mark and even though he hasn’t shown much since then tryin him back on this surface could be a positive as he finished fourth when last seen here and should handle the surface better this time out
