PADDOCKS PATENT (TUESDAY)

14:40 Ayr

We start our day’s previews with a quite competitive fifteen furlong handicap.

Broughtons Bandit was four lengths behind the winner at Lingfield last time out on the flat but he’s got proven form over this distance and though usally a competitive hurdler he could come on for that second at Lingfield and make his presence felt.

Rock On Bollinski left it till the final fifty yards to snatch the win at Newcastle last time out but did show a fame staying on the way he did; he has to negotiate a five pound penalty for this which may just seen him back in the places.

Bowdler’s Magic is a huge thorn in my side for this as he only ran two days ago at Musselburgh where he finished last but that was in a lot better company than this and probably not the distance that suits either so the drop in class should suit; he is my e/w selection for this but if he doesn’t run then my selection will have to go to Attention Seaker as she’s proven over further than this and if given the right ride could take all the beating in the final furlong.

15:40 Sedgefield

We head to the hurdles for our second preview a twenty furlong handicap hurdle.

It’s strange after all these years looking at these kind of races and not seeing AP or Hughesy anymore but history is history for a reason and it’s time for others to show what they have.

Ever So Much won over course and distance twice around this time last year and even though he’s now nine pounds higher in the weights he proved last time out he still got what it takes to still compete at this level and should be very dangerous again today.

Howaboutnever may of only won a novice race last time out but he won it so convincingly that this step up in class shouldn’t be a problem especially if he continues to progress the way he has.

Drifter is raised five pounds for his win at Perth three weeks ago and may find this just beyond him top day at his current weight.

16:25 Ayr

We return back to Ayr for our final preview a six furlong handicap.

Miss Linda Perratt has swamp this race with five horses and a couple look to be real contenders.

Blue Sonic and Saxonette are the two that stand out, the latter who was tipped by pundit Rory  on Sunday and obliged at 7/1 escapes a penalty for this but this looks a little tougher today but still looks to have an e/w claim. The former though just looks a little more likely to win from the pair; she completed a hat-trick around here before fluffing the start in a class three race at Hamilton last month but she should do well again back in this company.

Ancient Cross is another who has been dropped in class but even so he’s not won anything for two years now and isn’t getting any younger.

Pettochside comes here seeking a hat-trick after two good wins at Goodwood and could still be dangerous off what looks still a lenient mark after both them wins.
