PADDOCKS PATENT (THURSDAY)

13:15 Wincanton Demographic made a more than pleasing seasonal reappearance at Huntingdon a little over a week ago. That was over slightly further that today’s trip so his stamina ought to be guaranteed. Emma Lavelle’s runners often come on in leaps and bounds for a run and with regular stable jockey Daryl Jacob keeping the ride, he should know a little exactly when to press the button. The good to soft ground looks ideal for this seven year old and he looks a major player in this low grade affair. Presenting Berkeley will be popular given that he has seemed to improve on each start this season. The big worry is that he only ran a week ago where he finished second to Midnight Target. He was headed in the closing stages so the reduction in distance looks perfect for him he is thoroughly unexposed and looks the biggest danger to the selection. Shaddaii has already had a couple of runs so far this season. The grey gelding is only one of two runners in the race to have won over the distance and he looks a decent each way shout. Demographic (WIN)

13:45 Wincanton On Demand was absolutely flawless over this course and distance when last seen out at little under a fortnight ago. He has won twice and been placed on the other three occasions that he has raced so far this season. Whilst this does represent a career high mark for the five year old, Angus Cheleda gets on well with him and is able to take a further ten pounds off the bottom weight this afternoon. if allowed an uncontested lead once again, he may prove lethal in receipt of up to two stone from his rivals. The Paul Nicholls duo of Abidjan and Brelan D’as look to be here on somewhat of a recovery mission. The former fell when last seen out at few months back at Fontwell in a novices chase whilst the latter was pulled up on his hurdling debut for the Ditcheat handler. Of the pair preference is for Abidjan who has plenty of experience to fall back on and he looks the biggest threat. McKenzies Friend has been known to go well fresh in the past and comes here on the back of a 272 day break. He looks fairly well treated on the best of his form and should give a decent account. On Demand (E/W if 9/2+)

14:50 Wincanton Lettheriverrundry was a model of consistency last season over hurdles and now makes his chasing debut this afternoon. He is another that has gone well fresh in the past and comes from a yard that can do very little wrong at present. Brendan Powell junior has only ridden the six year old twice in the past but on both occasions they have proven to be successful. Running in the familiar colours of JP McManus he is open to any amount of improvement and he should be capable of delivering a good account. Venetia Williams has her yard in decent order and Burtons Well comes here on the back of an almost two years absence. Despite having his problems he is clearly a talented individual as he showed when winning on debut at Newbury back in October 2014. Smoking Jacket and The Coffee Hunter were first and second in a similar contest at Stratford a few weeks ago. There shouldn’t be an awful lot between them again this time around but the former should confirm the form. Red Devil Star comes here on the back of a decent account at Fontwell last month. He will come on for that run now that the cobwebs are fully cleared and he has solid place claims yet again. Lettheriverrundry (E/W if 9/2+)
