17:05 Newbury We start here with a mile and a half handicap, a class five contest. With dangers a plenty with many unexposed. Stoute and Moore team up with Christmas Hamper who benefited from the appliance of blinkers. The form of his Sailsbury win hasn’t really worked out and likely to be well backed he is opposed in this competitive event. Mr Bissto and Wagstaff look to be on winnable marks while Perceived has been running well in defeat. The selection is Kerrymerry. While he carries a double penalty and is not that well in here. That said the form of his three starts at three working out really well and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he is still ahead of the handicapper. Kerrymerry (E/W 9/2+)
19:00 Leopardstown A trappy contest that would be more suitable in our “Friday Night Lights” article from Dundalk. Knights Templar won at Roscommon and is a deserved favourite. However that was his first win for two years and cannot be trusted. Mezorgiorno is a good sort and ran an honest race last time up However he is vulnerable out in front and may be caught again.
The one that makes most appeal is Octavia. Running nearly exclusively at Dundalk she makes only a second turf start. She has crack young jock Jack Kennedy booked and with form behind the progressive Ishebayorgrey and Koybig she should go close. Octavia (WIN)
20:50 Haydock This race really revolves around the favourite McCreery. He won a maiden at Newbury on his only two year old start. However that didn’t amount to much. With doubts if he has trained on or not. I will be looking for some E/W value. That comes in the shape of Star of the Stage for Richard Fahey. My main concern is the fact he has raced solely on the all weather but by Invincible Spirit and out of a Kyllachy mare he should handle the turf and can out run his current odds. Star Of The Stage (E/W)
