Double Treasure is still a maiden after six runs but he remains completely unexposed. This is a step up in trip for the five year old but if taking to it he looksTwenty a massive threat. Soft ground may be against him though and that is why I have passed over him today. Venetia Williams horses all seem to act on a rain softened surface, so Last Shot may offer alternative each way value. 13:05 Bangor Nail ‘M ran well for a long way when chasing home Royal Palladium at Exeter last month. He loves it when the ground is moist and with that being his first run in six months, he is fully entitled to improve for it. This return to an extended three and a half miles is certainly in his favour. Tom Bellamy has ridden him before and been placed on him so a decent run looks to be on the cards. Millicent Silver looked to be very much in need of the run when brought down on her seasonal reappearance at Kelso a few weeks ago. There is no doubt that she will improve upon that if fully over those recent exertions and she looks the biggest danger today. Kerry Lee saddles topweight Krackatoa King. 15:10 Bangor Kelsey’s only win in his relatively short career came on a soft surface at Towcester back in February. He was moved from the yard of Tom Lacey to Peter Bowen and whist his new trainer hasn’t managed to get a win out of him yet, it seems it will only be a matter of time. Today is the first time he has got soft ground at this trip and having run creditably in his last three outings, he will strip a lot fitter now he has a recent run under his belt. Sean Bowen has ridden him the last twice so he should know exactly what he has underneath him today. Boher Lad has struck a decent level of form and won at this trip at Ludlow just last month when partnered by Stan Sheppard. He wasn’t on next time so a return to Ludlow saw him beaten seven lengths by That’s Gonna Sting. With the ground once again in their favour and Stan Sheppard back in the plate, they command the utmost of respect. Despite carrying topweight Sutters Mill seems to be improving with each run this season. Evan Williams has his yard in excellent form and with Adam Wedge on board look sure to be involved at the business end. Kelsey (E/W if 9/2+)
