Exotic Guest bounced back to form with a hard fought success over this course and distance a fortnight ago. He had to see off the attentions of a lesser exposed rival in Doc Charm that day and the duo in turn pulled a length and a half clear of Order Of Service. The form of the race is beginning to work out as the runner up was only just touched off again next time out whilst the third placed Order Of Service has won subsequently. James Sullivan is once again in the saddle and they ought to make another bold bid here for a very much in form Ruth Carr stable.

Sea Of Green hails from Jim Goldie’s locally based yard. He is an unexposed three year old and Fergal Lynch would have had the choice between him and Goninodaethat. The fact that he chooses the first time handicapper speaks volumes and he could prove to be the biggest threat to the selection. Pomme De Terre has a similar profile to that of Sea Of Green, but he has to defy a three month absence and tackle his toughest opponents to date. He will improve for whatever he shows here this afternoon. Irish raiders are always worthy of a second look when they make the trip across the Irish Sea. Damian English sends Ask Dad over to contest this handicap but his chances look less obvious with every drop of rain that falls.

Exotic Guest is still well handicapped on the best of his old form and with him being the only horse arriving here in decent form he is taken to follow up his recent course and distance win.

Ardesia looked as though he was coming back into form with a decent third at Hexham last time out. He has been to this track many times before and has recorded three course and distance victories as a result. Connections will be hoping that the ground stays dry throughout the afternoon in order to get the best out of this eleven year old veteran and with Jonathan England able to claim a useful three pounds, they look excellent value to get amongst the places.

Swampfire has been kept busy of late but was only just denied back to back wins at Uttoxeter five days ago. If turning up here in a similar mood today he looks the most likely to serve it up to the selection. James Banks is an up and coming amateur to take note of and he is still able to claim three pounds from the seven year old. Mad Money seems to have benefitted from a change of stable on what was his first outing since last October. Paul Moloney has once again been tasked with the ride on the relatively lightly raced nine year old and they too should be in the thick of the action.

Ardesia was capable of winning from a twelve pound higher rating around this time last season and he commands respect now that he ventures back to his favourite track and trip. Tina Jackson is likely to have him specifically targeted for this and he looks too big at current double figure prices.

Peace Prize has already recorded two wins so far this season and she should be capable of making another bold effort here. Her victories at Nottingham and Newmarket were over slightly shorter distances but there is no reason to think that she cannot stay at least this far. The form of her most recent outings keeps getting boosted with the likes of Polarisation and Pacify both winning subsequently. Harry Bentley takes the reigns for the third time in succession and they have to be high on any shortlist this evening.

Sweet Selection was doing all of her best work in the closing stages at Salisbury last time. This step up in trip looks tailor made for Hughie Morrison’s three year old and she looks the main danger to the selection. Jim Crowley takes over in the saddle this evening and they are more likely than not to make their presence felt. Mystery Code turned over an Andrew Balding hotpot at Chelmsford last time and will need to improve again in order to trouble the main protagonists here. Mikandy was exposed when upped to this grade last time and looks vulnerable yet again.

Hugo Palmer has his yard in excellent form an he notched up a first ever classic win with Covert Love when she won the Irish Oaks at the weekend. Peace Prize is his sole representative across British racetracks today and she should go very close to giving him a fifth winner from his last five runners.
